We are a company with a long history in the Christchurch building industry. Our story of who we are makes us the company we are today and why we strive for perfection in every project we take on.
A Proven Builder Committed to Excellence
The Findlay family has been a part of Canterbury’s building sector for over two generations starting with Ron Findlay. During the 1980’s Ron’s son Scott joined the company and was awarded New Zealand apprentice builder of the year in 1987. Scott’s brother, John a qualified Quantity Surveyor, is also well recognised in the Christchurch building industry. Together Scott and John built many residential homes throughout Christchurch, earning them a strong reputation from quality workmanship and design, and earning them several Master Builders home of the year awards.

After the Canterbury earthquakes Scott and his dedicated team have worked tirelessly on rebuilding Christchurch. Recognised as one of EQC’s top contractors SFB have completed over 1000 residential repairs on different homes throughout the city to their usual high standards of work, as well as other residential and commercial builds through this period.
With over 30 years of building experience Scott has developed a reputation that is second to none when it comes to customer satisfaction and attention to detail. Whatever the work you need Scott and the SFB team are with you all the way and take pride in our ‘customer comes first’ policy for all building work.

Our SFB Team comprises of years of expertise in the building industry. We can take on a wide range of projects with specialised staff for all facets of a project. Scott leads the Team and has a vast knowledge of building experience. Included in his Team are experienced Builders, labourers, a Painter/Plasterer, Bricklayer, Health and Safety, Customer Services and a qualified Quantity Surveyor. We also have a great crew of Sub-Contractors that work in with our Team so we can achieve the perfect result for our Clients.

SFB are committed to the Health & Safety of its employees, customers, subcontractors and all other personnel working on or visiting sites under its control or influence.
SFB empower our team with skills and knowledge to make the right Health and Safety decision on our sites by keeping up with industry standards. We have achieved a SiteWise Gold rating for all our Health & Safety procedures and all our staff hold a current Site Safe Passport.
